To support Early Career Scientists, the European Association of Geochemistry has developed several programs and provides useful resources for young scientists.
Student Sponsorship Program
The Student Sponsorship Program provides up to 500 Euros to students wishing to attend geochemistry related short courses, conferences (except Goldschmidt conferences), and summer schools located in Europe.
Early Career Science Ambassador Program
The Early Career Science Ambassador Program provides travel grants for Early Career Scientists based in Europe to attend conferences outside of Europe (except Goldschmidt conferences). Supported scientists will have 50% of their expenses covered by EAG, up to 2000 Euros, and be viewed as EAG Ambassadors while attending the event.
Goldschmidt Grants Program
The Goldschmidt Conference Grants Program provides support to early career scientists from low-income countries to attend the conference.
Short Course and Conference Sponsorship
EAG members organising short courses or small conferences in Europe can request sponsorship from EAG to support student attendance, up to 200 Euros per student. See the events we are sponsoring and how to request sponsorship.
The EAG regularly posts job opportunities in geochemistry. This service is completely free. To receive job alerts, like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter (@EAG_). Positions are also included in the monthly newsletter.
Upcoming conferences and short courses
The Upcoming conferences and short courses page lists some of the events which may be of interest to geochemists. Note early career scientists can benefit from financial support at some of the short courses.
Database of programs and bursaries in geochemistry
This database serves as a resource for geochemistry related bachelor, master, and PhD programs, as well as small bursaries for early career scientists.
