The EAG Distinguished Service Award recognizes outstanding service to the geochemical community, exceeding the expectations of normal service. This award is presented on an irregular basis and the nominees are proposed by the EAG Council.
Nominations of underrepresented groups are encouraged.

 

2015 EAG Distinguished Service Award:

Christa Göpel

The EAG Council wished to recognize Christa Göpel, IPGP, for her service as the EAG Treasurer from 2008 to 2014. Christa has been instrumental to the development of a solid financial situation for EAG, which now allows the society to fund a number of initiatives. As an excellent treasurer, Christa has always demonstrated good balance between optimism and pessimism when presenting financial forecasts!
EAG is honored to recognize Christa for her outstanding contribution to the geochemical community, greatly exceeding the expectations of normal service. This award was presented at the Goldschmidt2015 conference.

 

2015 EAG-GS Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award:

Paul Beattie

The European Association of Geochemistry and the Geochemical Society have decided to recognize the lasting and substantive contributions to the development of geochemistry through the Goldschmidt conferences by honoring Paul Beattie with the “2015 EAG-GS Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award”. This award was presented at the Goldschmidt2015 conference.

 

 

2014 EAG Distinguished Service Award: 

Juan Diego Rodriguez Blanco

Juan Diego Rodriguez Blanco, Ussher Professor at Trinity College Dublin, has been involved with the EAG since 2011 through his work on the Communications Committee and EAG Blog. Juan Diego is also directly involved with the EAG publication Geochemical Perspectives as its ‘graphical guru’. EAG is honored to recognize Juan Diego for his outstanding service, greatly exceeding the expectations of normal voluntary service. This award was presented at the Goldschmidt2014 conference.
