Nominations for 2023 Awards now open

Recognizing deserving scientists is at the core of EAG's mission. There are many discussions around the diversity of awardees, but as highlighted by Derek Vance, EAG President, in the blog post “EAG needs you to nominate a colleague for an award today!”, the key issue is the lack of nominations.

The EAG Award Nomination Committee is currently working hard to identify potential candidates and nominators, but we need the help of all the community to create a diverse pool of candidates.

Nomination deadline for Fellows: 31 October
Nomination deadline for Urey, Science Innovation and Houtermans Awards: 15 November

New GS-EAG Virtual Mentoring Program

Geochemists, depending on their location, may have limited access to the resources, opportunities, or expertise necessary to fulfill their professional goals.

This program aims to connect these professionals with mentors across the globe who can assist, guide, and provide insights to aid in achieving these goals. For a start, the program will focus on three activities and will be dedicated to geochemists from low-income or lower middle-income countries as defined by the World Bank.  Read more and apply as mentee or mentor.

Origin of radiogenic 129Xe variations in carbonaceous chondrites

Carbonaceous chondrites are pristine witnesses of the formation of the solar system. Among them, the carbon-rich Tarda and Tagish Lake meteorites are thought to have sampled very distant regions of the outer circumsolar disk (Hiroi et al., 2001 ). Here, we...
