Dan Frost, EAG Councillor

Dan Frost is a research scientist at the Bayerisches Geoinstitut, University of Bayreuth, Germany.
His research is aimed at improving our understanding of the chemical and physical properties of the deep Earth, mainly through high pressure and temperature experimentation. He is interested in the speciation of volatile elements in the Earth’s interior and the interactions between volatile phases and mantle minerals. He also employs the results of high-pressure experiments to interpret seismic observations of the Earth’s interior.
Several of his recent studies have focused on constraining the process of terrestrial core formation and the evolution of the redox state of the Earth’s mantle.

Dan Frost is also the Chair of the EAG Nominations Committee.
